Turbinicarpus comes from the Latin term “turbinatus,” meaning “top-shaped,” and the Greek term “carpos,” meaning “body.” This refers to the top-shaped growth of the stems. Trichocereus plants are popular with cactus collectors as they are small and quickly bloom unique and beautiful flowers. The white to dark pink flowers typically bloom at the top of the plant.
