“Lepismium” GenusCactiLepismium comes from the Greek term “leppis,” meaning “scale.” This genus was known for its small scales beneath the areole. Lepismium is native to Bolivia, Brazil, and Argentina. Lepismium plants are both “epiphytic” or “lithophytic” – meaning “tree-dwellers” or “rock-dwellers.” Lepismium requires a wetter environment and doesn’t thrive well in deserts.
