Acanthocalycium comes from the Greek words “akantha” and “kalyx” meaning “spines on the floral tubes” or “chalice with thorns”. Typically, this genus requires full sunlight and a well-ventilated environment with a temperature from 6 to 7 degrees Celsius. This genus is known to be a decorative succulent for its vibrant colors and abundant flowers.
